Jackson Privacy Notice

This notice describes information handled when someone visits Jackson County Released Inmates, uses an outside search tool, or sends a message. It also explains the limited parties that may receive data and the choices available to users.

Information You Submit

Search entries

A name, place, or other query entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy controls its handling of the query.

Messages

If you send an email or contact message, the information in it is kept as needed to respond. It is not shared outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.

Automatic Technical Information

Ordinary page requests can create technical and usage information, including:

  • IP address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and time spent;
  • the referring website, when supplied; and
  • request dates and timestamps.

Cookies

Cookies may help measure how visitors use the site. Browser controls can reject or delete them, though blocking cookies may make some features work differently.

Uses of Collected Data

Information may be used to operate and improve the service. Typical uses are:

  • keeping pages available and responsive;
  • sending a search request to the selected partner;
  • learning which resources visitors use;
  • finding and repairing technical faults; and
  • displaying advertising that may reflect interests.

Websites Beyond Our Control

Links lead to Jackson County release records, sheriff and corrections pages, courts, public portals, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy policy applies. Advertising providers may also measure activity across sites on their systems, not on this site's behalf as a government records custodian.

Parties That May Receive Data

Personal data is not sold. Depending on the feature used, information may be processed by search partners handling a query, analytics providers, advertising networks, or a law-enforcement or government body acting under a valid legal order.

Reasonable Data Safeguards

Standard security practices are used to protect information. No internet-connected service can promise that access, storage, or transmission will be completely secure, so this notice does not offer a breach-proof guarantee.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the nature of the information held, a user may ask for a copy of personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, seek deletion, or object to certain processing. These requests concern information controlled by this private site. Government records must be addressed with the agency that maintains them.

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised when practices or legal duties change. A new version becomes available on this page with its updated effective date.
